More About EMDR

EMDR is a type neuro-based psychotherapy that was originally developed to treat trauma-related disorders, such as post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).

During EMDR therapy, the patient recalls a traumatic memory while following the therapist's hand movements with their eyes or by using other forms of bilateral stimulation, such as tapping or sounds. This process is thought to help the brain reprocess the traumatic memory in a more adaptive way, allowing the individual to come to terms with the experience and reduce the intensity of related symptoms, such as anxiety or flashbacks.

EMDR therapy has been found to be effective in treating PTSD, as well as other mental health conditions, such as depression, anxiety, and phobias. However, it may not be suitable for everyone, and it is important to seek advice from a qualified mental health professional before undergoing any treatment.
